Step 2 – Repair Win 10 for Free with Startup Repair Windows 10

After you complete the steps, the tool will repair the damaged files using the files included in the “install.esd” image. If your Windows 10 PC is not working correctly and you can’t get into the sign-in screen, then you may need to use a Windows 10 repair/recovery disk, drive or installation media to reset the PC. If you’re running an older version of Windows, or if your Windows 10 PC isn’t launching the repair options, you’ll need to use a recovery drive to fix your MBR. Start by inserting the system repair media into the PC. This will be either one you created, or a purchased version of the Windows install discs. This process involves Windows ISO, a bootable USB or DVD to repair your Windows.

It also allows you to create a bootable media (USB drive, CD/DVD or hard disk) to restore (Windows 10) OS to previous healthy state. You can use SFC and DISM commands on Command Prompt to repair Windows 11. SFC scan fixes if there are any issues with the system files and DISM Scan fixes if there are any issues with the Windows image file. You can also run Bootrec commands if you are facing issues during boot.

(It may not be able to.) If you don’t actually have a startup problem, it will also say it can’t fix the problem.
